Gospel Singer Reverend Timothy Wright Dies
Gospel singer Reverend Timothy Wright has died months after a July 4th car crash that critically injured him.
Rev. Wright was a Grammy nominated gospel singer and was pastor of the Grace Tabernacle Christian Center Church of God in Christ located in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn.
Another car was going the wrong way when it struck Rev. Wright’s car on July 4th. His wife, Betty, was killed and his 14 year old grandson, D.J. Wright, also died as a result of the accident. The family had been returning home from a Church of God in Christ conference in Detroit.
Reverend Wright had more than a dozen gospel recordings and wrote many of his songs. His latest album, “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus”, came out in 2007.
Gospel singer Reverend Timothy Wright was 61.
