Shooting at Grad Party
A shooting at a high school grad party has left two people dead. Six received minor injuries and a police officer was hurt.
A 37 year old man who was invited to the party Saturday night in Mesa, Arizona got into a fight with a woman believed to be his ex-wife. Police say the suspect walked to his car about 11:30, got a handgun and began shooting shortly after. The 38 year old woman and a 32 year old man were killed.
Included in the six injured were two boys ages 8 and 10. Police said the injuries were minor and may have been caused by bullet fragmentation.
The two officers who responded to the call were immediately fired upon. One officer suffered a gun shot wound to his left arm.
The suspect was taken into custody after he had barricaded himself in the home for more than 2 hours.
Police said names of the people involved in the shooting at the grad party are not being released as the criminal investigation is in the very beginning stages.

With the beginning of warmer weather, it is important to protect ourselves from the sun and be able to recognize sunstroke signs.
Sunstroke (another term for heat stroke) results when the body’s temperature control system, which produces sweating to cool the body, stops working.
Sunstroke signs
1. Hot red skin
2. Changes in consciousness
3. Rapid, weak pulse
4. Rapid, shallow breathing
5. High body temperature-as high as 105 degrees F
Sunstroke is a life threatening situation. If you recognize sunstroke signs in someone, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately. Put the victim in a cooler place and quickly cool the body by wrapping in wet sheets or immersing the victim in a cool bath. Keep the person lying down. Do not give a victim anything to eat or drink if they refuse water, are vomiting or there are changes in their level of consciousness.
