Incorrect levels of zinc and potassium have prompted a dry cat food recall by Nutro Products.
The voluntary recall includes select varieties of NUTRO® NATURAL CHOICE® COMPLETE CARE® Dry Cat Foods and NUTRO® MAX® Cat Dry Foods with “Best If Used By Dates” between May 12, 2010 and August 22, 2010.
The products have been distributed to all 50 states as well as Canada, Mexico and some overseas countries.
Nutro Products is advising people who have purchased the products to immediately stop feeding the product to their cats and are asking owners to monitor their cats for symptoms. The symptoms include reduction in appetite or refusal of food, weight loss, vomiting or diarrhea.
Affected products of the dry cat food recall should be returned to the store where they were purchased for a full refund or exchange for another Nutro dry cat food product.
