Michael Jackson’s memorial program will be shown live in as many as 80 theaters according to the Los Angeles Times.
The company that is upgrading many U.S. theaters to digital, Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp., reached an agreement last night with the Jackson family and Anschultz Entertainment Group to offer the telecast service to theater chains.
Dale Mayo, Chief Executive, said, “You’ll see it as though you’re there.” A limited number of free tickets will be made available.
AEG, owner of Staples Center where the memorial will be held, is also offering live television feed to broadcasters. Plans are for Cinedigm to carry the program live without commentary or interruptions, Mayo said.
Mayo also added the program could be shown on about 100 screens. Discussions are on going with theater chains equipped to receive the transmission.
Stars such as Lionel Richey, Smokey Robinson, Usher, Stevie Wonder and Jennifer Hudson will take part in the memorial program.
The telecast of MJ’s memorial program tomorrow in theaters would give the fans a place to gather and watch the service together.
Reverse Alzheimer’s Debilitating Effects with Cup of Joe

Not only does Dr. Gary Arendash, an American neuroscientist, claim caffeine can prevent Alzheimer’s disease, he also suggests coffee can reverse Alzheimer’s debilitating effects.
“The new findings provide evidence that caffeine could be a viable “treatment” for established Alzheimer’s disease, and not simply a protective strategy,” lead research Arendash said in a statement. “That’s important because caffeine is a safe drug for most people, it easily enters the brain, and it appears to directly affect the disease process.”
The study at the Florida Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) in Tampa found caffeine significantly reduces abnormal levels of protein linked to Alzheimer’s both in the brain and in the blood of mice exhibiting the symptoms of Alzheimer’s.
The mice with a rodent equivalent of the disease showed a 50 % reduction in levels of amyloid protein in their brains after caffeine was added to their drinking water.
Amyloid protein is an abnormal protein in the brain with links to Alzheimer’s.
At the conclusion of the two month study, the mice chosen to drink caffeine performed far better on tests of memory and thinking than mice chosen to drink water.
People getting an equivalent dose for their body weight would be consuming 500 milligrams of caffeine a day which is equal to 5 cups of ordinary coffee, 2 cups of strong coffee, 14 cups of tea or 20 cola drinks.
Huntington Potter, investigator for the caffeine studies at ADRC, said, “Our goal is to obtain the funding needed to translate the therapeutic discoveries in mice into well-designed clinical trials.”
The reverse of Alzheimer’s debilitating effects along with the prevention of the disease by such a simple method would be an astonishing medical breakthrough since so many of us are or will be affected by Alzheimer’s.
