Mister Softee Ice Cream Truck Delivering More Than Ice Cream-Driver Arrested

softeeA Long Island, N.Y. Mister Softee ice cream truck driver was arrested yesterday for delivering more than ice cream on his route.

According to the New York Post, undercover police officers working on another case said they saw the Mister Softee driver stop his truck in front of a house in Westbury. A woman responded to his knock on the door and money was exchanged for cocaine.

Police  found several bags of a white powdery substance which is believed to be cocaine in the driver’s ice cream truck. The driver, Kenneth Leiton, 22, of Elmont, N.Y. allegedly had a bag of marijuana.

Lefton was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third and fifth degree,  third degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Because excited children eager to buy ice cream were running up to the truck at the time of the drug sale, the Mister Softee ice cream truck driver was also charge with endangering the welfare of a child.
