Another Salmonella Tainted Meat Recall
We have yet another salmonella tainted meat recall to deal with. This latest one involves 22,723 pounds of ground beef.
Beef Packers Inc.of Fresno, California is pulling the meat because of a possible link to salmonellosis. Beef Packers is owned by Cargill, Inc. This is Cargill’s second recall this year.
The products being recalled include 60 pound cases of “GRD Beef fine 93/0710/60.” Each case bears the identifying case code W69363 with Use/Freeze dates of 10/11/09.
The products were produced Sept. 23 and bear the establishment number “EST 31913″ printed on case code labels.
The meat was sent to a distribution center in Arizona, repackaged and sold under different retail brand names. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food safety and Inspection Service says consumers should check with local retailers to determine whether they may have purchased any of the recalled beef.
FSIS officials say the ground beef has been linked to 2 illnesses.
Beef Packers spokesman, Mark Klein, says the company initiated this latest salmonella tainted meat recall voluntarily and is “taking the matter seriously.”
Florida State Player Zebrie Sanders Forgot He Was Part of the Game

It appeared Florida State player Zebrie Sanders forgot he was part of the game when the Seminoles played against the Florida Gators last Saturday. The offensive lineman seemed frozen in place while his quarterback was doing his best to save himself.
There is another side to this story. Apparently Zebrie’s coach instructs his players to hold still if they think the defense is offside. I cannot, however, explain why he continued to remain in place when no penalty was called.
Zebrie is so young and I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt. In the video, he does look strange just holding his position while the game is going on around him. I can’t detect a flinch!
So perhaps Florida State player Zebrie Sanders forgot he was part of the game or perhaps he was simply following his coach’s instructions!
