The New York Times is reporting 2 heart stents for Ex President Bill Clinton were inserted into his native coronary artery after one of the bypass grafts from an operation five years ago became obstructed.
Mr. Clinton, 63, was taken to the Columbia campus of New York Presbyterian Hospital today after experiencing chest pains.
The former president just returned a few days ago from his second trip to Haiti since the earthquake there. Mr. Clinton is the United Nations special envoy to Haiti.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton was making plans to go to New York City from Washington this afternoon.
“President Clinton is in good spirits and will continue to focus on the work of his foundation and Haiti’s relief and long-term recovery efforts,” his counselor, Douglas J. Band, said in a statement released by the ex president’s office.
I’m praying the 2 heart stents for Ex President Bill Clinton will bring him back to good health quickly.
