Are You Going to Play the Regifting Game this Christmas?

A new poll by Consumer Reports shows 36% of U. S. adults say they will play the regifting game this year. This is in comparison to 31% last year and 24% in 2007.
For those of you who have no idea how to play the regifting game, I’ll explain. You simply pass on a gift you got from someone else. Ideally, you will rewrap it and be extremely careful you don’t give it back to the person who originally gave it to you!
Some people call regifters thrifty and others call them cheap. It is a shame to hang on to something you’ll never use. Especially if you think Aunt Edna would really like to have it!
It is possible to give an inexpensive, thoughtful present without regifting. Homemade goodies are always great or tie a bright bow around some gorgeous houseplants you’ve grown.
Bring back memories by giving retro candy. It’s a gift they will never forget… fresh, old fashioned candy from the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s.
It really is easy to be thrifty and thoughtful when choosing gifts without playing the regifting game this Christmas!
