Film, television and stage actor John Goodman is 100 pounds lighter and he revealed to People.com how he did it.
His secret? Eating well and exercising more! He quit drinking, cut sugar from his diet and worked out six days a week.
Perhaps best known for his role as Dan on the Roseanne television series, Goodman explained his motivation to lose saying, “I know it sounds sappy, but it was a waste. It takes a lot of creative energy to sit on your ass and figure out what you’re going to eat next…I wanted to live life better.”
Wow, that statement really hits home. I’m guilty of doing exactly that. If I’m not busy with one project or another, my main focus is on what to eat next! Is anyone else guilty of that?
I’m so happy we finally have a celebrity who lost weight the right way and a way we can all follow. Of course, John had a personal trainer but he noted he’s not going crazy with the workout, saying “I’m breaking a sweat but I’m not going nuts.”
His health coach, Mackie Shilstone, points outs that new opportunities will open for Goodman now. Shilstone said, “John is very agile. When I see him running I get out of the way! He can be a different type of actor now. He can take on athletic parts.”
John Goodman, 100 pounds lighter, will certainly be an inspiration for many of us to finally shed all those unwanted pounds by eating right and exercising!
