Fairfax County, located in Northern Virginia, is suing Krispy Kreme doughnuts citing goop-clogged pipes.

The county is claiming yeast and grease dumped at the Krispy Kreme plant in Lorton, Va. destroyed the surrounding sewer system. Fairfax sent Krispy Kreme a $1.9 million bill for the cost of repairing the system. Krispy Kreme has refused to pay and says the charges are “unfounded”.

Test results from last year showed the Krispy Kreme plant’s waste water had “extremely high levels of pollutants” according to the lawsuit, which asks for penalties as high as $17 million on top of the repair bill.

Okay, I understand now why doughnuts are not so healthy but those Krispy Kreme glazed are so good!
