Republican Sex Scandal Involving Tn Senator Paul Stanley Leads to His Resignation

Another Republican sex scandal has led to the resignation of Tennessee Senator Paul Stanley.

Senate speaker, Ron Ramsey, announced this afternoon that Senator Paul Stanley has resigned from the State Senate, effective August 10. The announcement came exactly one week after news of the sex scandal first broke.

Stanley told agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation that he had sexual relations with legislative intern, Mckensie Morrison. A Clarksville, Tn man apparently tried to blackmail the senator with nude photos of the 22 year old intern taken in Stanley’s Nashville apartment.

Senator Stanley is 47  and his family includes his wife and 2 children. In his written letter of resignation Stanley said,”I have decided to focus my attention on my family and resign my Senate seat effective August 10, 2009.”

Another Republican scandal and another guy who’s decided to consider his family after he’s caught and the damage is done.
