E.coli Cases Linked to Beef From National Steak Poultry Company of Oklahoma – Recall Issued
E.coli cases linked to beef from National Steak Poultry Company of Oklahoma have prompted a recall of 248,000 pounds of products.
Officials at the U.S. Agriculture Department said illnesses from the E.coli bacteria were reported in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, South Dakota and Washington state.
The beef linked to the E.coli cases was produced by the Owasso, Oklahoma company in October.
The beef products were marketed under the company’s name and also under names that include Carino’s Boneless Beef and Moe’s Beef Steak.
E. coli is a potentially deadly bacterium that can cause bloody diarrhea, dehydration, and in the most severe cases, kidney failure.
