cigsParticipate and stop smoking America during the Great American Smokeout taking place November 19, 2009.

As an ex smoker myself, I know how difficult it is to quit smoking but it can be done!

Choose November 19 as your quit date. Begin listing your reasons to quit and then list all the new hobbies you can do instead of smoking. Let your family, friends and co workers know about your plan to quit. Ask for their support and understanding while you are going through the initial withdrawal stage.

Studies have proven that nicotine replacement aids make that withdrawal stage easier than ever. They can almost double your odds of success in quitting. Find the aid that will work for you and your lifestyle. They are available in different forms such as gums, patches, or sprays.

Remember, twenty minutes after quitting your heart rate and blood pressure will drop. Twelve hours after quitting the carbon monoxide level in your blood will drop to normal. Month by month and year by year, the health benefits will continue. You are going to heal yourself and feel like a new person!

The American Cancer Society holds the Great American Smokeout to set aside a day to help smokers quit at least for one day. I’m urging you to quit smoking and make it a lifetime commitment. Take it from me, the rewards of living a smoke free life are abundant. You’re going to look better and feel better!

Quitting is not easy but I did it and you can too! So on November 19th,  stop smoking  America during the Great American Smokeout and stay smoke free ever!
